EPIC FAIL?

Sorry, pardon the pun, but I love them.

I apologize for not posting yesterday....I'm sure you were wondering what happened.

Welp, I didn't win the contest and I am really bummed out about it.

I just needed a day to let that soak in, after two weeks of videos/posts/pictures/jokes etc. and begging you to vote. I could not have done all that stuff without your support and I am truly thankful!

I am feeling MUCH better today.

In fact, so much better that I have decided not to quit. Quitting is for losers. I certainly have not lost ANYTHING by entering Mandi's Epic Room Makeover.

I think I will keep up this blogging in my spare time and keep you all up to date on that airplane wing and mess of a room of mine.

I made a plan and I am expecting to spiffy up this blog with a better logo and theme etc by the middle of October. I'd like to also have up some tutorials about how we turn an airplane wing into a desk.

The 10 ladies in the final made a Facebook Group and we have all been brainstorming on how to concur our rooms. I just think its so so great. They are all the nicest people ever! Seriously when is competition ever this nice? I love it.

I wanted to give you all the first PEAK into my idea for the room. I like to do these "inspiration" boards and I'm sure I'll do a couple before I decide on the final concept.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?! Be honest.

I know there are a lot of juxtapositions going on here and ALOT of color. I really had to channel my inner Mandi, because I normally go for neutrals that will match everything.

I want to mix a modern accent wall (the rest will stay navy) for the wing desk but have other "traditional" patterns like florals, chinese  porcelain, and needpoint to offset the modern stuff.

Things we own that I'd like to keep in the room:
-Black leather couch that needs "feet"
-The brown wing chair featured
-Two mid-century modern side tables

Reminder of what it looks like now (See the couch, chair, and 2 side tables?)
The wall behind the couch will be the "accent wall"

BY THE WAY, how do I get rid of popcorn ceilings?

Love you all!

An EPIC tale

There lived a fairy princess, named Charlotte Belle.

Her evil parents kept her locked up in this one room all day, leaving Charlotte Belle with only her day dreams .

The conditions were dire...

Charlotte Belle was keen though, she had been sneaking onto the internet since she was a young girl to see how she could change her situation around.

She found a site called Vintage Revivals and entered a contest to fix up her room...

and now she waits in her tower until her Knight and Shining Designer, Mandi, can come save her!

PLEASE HELP PRINCESS CHARLOTTE BELLE... help her have a Happy Ending!

WHAT IF?!?!

I've always heard we should live a life of "Oh Wells" instead of "What Ifs"

I never really knew what that meant exactly, until I entered this contest.

This saying really means you should put yourself out there, you should live in the moment, and go for the gold. (Even if you're shy and scared and nervous) In the worst case scenario you say, "Oh well it wasn't meant to be" as opposed to never have tried at all.

This has been really important for me to remember this throughout these past two weeks.

Even if I don't win, I found out some really great stuff about myself:

I didn't know I had this crazy funny bone. I didn't know that I was capable of putting out material (like online) that people would actually enjoy, especially people that didn't know me. I didn't think that I actually would really like writing blog posts and making videos. I didn't know that I would make it this far in the contest. I didn't know I would meet such amazingly nice people...and the list goes on and on and on.

I have been so fulfilled by the fun I have been having during these past two weeks.

I am so glad I'm not sitting here wondering,"What if I had entered that contest on Vintage Revivals, would I have maybe won it?"

SO I guess this is just a thoughtful piece for today. Is there anything you've been considering doing that you're scared or shy of trying? My advice, DO IT.

Mandi, at Vintage Revivals has ALWAYS gone for it, and that is something I ALWAYS wish I had done in the past. I'm glad I had her to help encourage and bring that out in me! Thanks Mandi!

The only "what if" going on right now in my head is WHAT IF I ACTUALLY WIN THIS CONTEST?, Holy McMoly. This is COOL.
The only way that can happen is if you: VOTE HERE (#2 Christina)

More vote rally posts to come as the last two days wind up...

JOKES for VOTES

You all have been hanging in there SO well with this super long voting process. You also know me a little bit better and my sense of humor.

SO I will be doing a little comedy act for the next couple days to rally votes and giving out some facts so you can get to know me a little better.

I am calling this series:

TODAY's Joke

I'm the REAL DEAL no impasta here! BAHAHAHA.

So there's your joke, now this was the deal

YOU VOTE HERE #2 Christina

But seriously, I want you all to feel like you know me a little bit better so you can get the warm and fuzzies about voting for me.

Christina is the REAL DEAL:
1. I am 1000000% new to blogging. I tried once, and haven't picked this up until this contest-> HERE and I also wrote a blog post for my cousin for her teen ministry READ IT HERE (she is revamping it soon, and its going to be AMAZING, please subscribe to her)

2. I am NOT a professional with videos. Fact is, when Nick was deployed to Afghanistan I made him a few "A day in the life of Christina" videos on the Mac he gave me so he felt closer to home. I also once helped his roommate in college make a recruitment video for my sorority.  I am just self taught on imovie. (You can basically "youtube" how to do anything, now-a-days) HOWEVER , I am a professional at Excel, PowerPoint and all other MS type stuff, as I do it on a daily basis that takes up 99% of my time at work with an engineering consulting firm.

3.  I am a true blue, HOKIE, Army Wife, Delta Delta Delta Lifetime Memeber, and a member of the Junior League. I love volunteering, philanthropies (especially St. Jude), and THE USA!

4. I think "How I met your mother" is the funniest show I have ever seen and used it often as my "inspiration" for my videos, THERE'S no denying that!

5. I have been the happiest I've been in a really, really, really long time doing these blog posts and entering this contest.

Kiss Kiss,
Christina
